It is a great opportunity to discover important Buddhist sightseeings in one full day in the city. Mongolia is one of the Buddhist countries in the world. Historically, Ulaanbaatar city was Buddhist center for Mongolians since the 16th century. Ulaanbaatar city has some important landmarks to resemble the biggest religion of Mongolians. A Buddhist city tour will show the deepest cultures and development of Buddhism.
Start the day by visiting Zaisan War Memorial Hill to have a panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar. Proceed the tour to Gandantegchileng Monastery, the Centre of Mongolian Buddhists which is situated on the west side of the city. The word ‘Gandantegchileng’ means ‘Great Place of Complete Joy’ in the Tibetan language. The most popular sight of the monastery is the 26-meter high statue of Avalokitesvara. Afterward, visit Chingis central square and stroll at the heart of the city. Choose one museum from the selection of Buddhist museums including Zanabazar's Fine Arts Museum, Bogd Khaan's Winter Palace Museum, Geser Temple Museum, and Choijin Lama Temple.
After lunch, attend Buddhist meditation class for 1 – 2 hours at Gandantegchileng Monastery. A visit to Mongolian traditional medicine clinic, Naidan, at Pethub monastery to have a general check-up. If there is some time left, enjoy shopping at a souvenir shop and well-known cashmere shops.
Enjoy watching the world known Mongolian folk art performance by the State National Song and Dance Academic Ensemble at Grand Theatre. Dinner will be served at the selected restaurant. Transfer to hotel.
